ACT, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, SAT, SSAT/ISEE/SHSAT
Jonathan moved to New York to study acting at NYU Tisch, where he graduated with honors. Shortly thereafter he began teaching SAT, ACT, LSAT, GRE and GMAT, a career that spans over ten years and thousands of students. He frequently takes the LSAT, his favorite test, and scores consistently in the 99th percentile.
As a tutor, Jonathan enjoys nothing more than helping students first to define their goals—and then to master them. Working from fundamental skills toward more sophisticated techniques tailored to the individual student, Jonathan makes it a point to keep even the most complicated ideas in simple terms, and to make sure that students are always equipped with multiple approaches to any problem. In turn, he often coaches students tackle their preparation with patience and trust in the process of expert skill acquisition.
In addition to working with students on entrance exams, Jonathan is a faculty member at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, where he teaches Voice and Speech and directs NYU undergraduates in plays. When he’s not helping students with their exams or young actors with the nuances of their performance, he loves watching NBA basketball and expanding his knowledge of Abraham Lincoln, his favorite president. With his wife, he runs an award-winning theater company, Smith Street Stage, which focuses on finding new and compelling ways to present classic stories.
